Experience
Ken is an experienced senior executive, businessman, organisation development practitioner and executive coach, having worked for 30+ years for and with large organisations across many industries in Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Ken’s corporate career was with AMATIL, initially as a corporate lawyer and then as Head of Human Resources. In these roles he took a very commercial/strategic approach and was a trusted member of the executive team. He managed many of AMATIL’s overseas investments as well as planning and executing a transformation from a paternalistic culture to a performance-based one.
Ken’s leading edge work resulted in his chairing the premier HR Director’s Forum for two decades.
Since 1990 Ken has advised and facilitated executive teams on strategy execution, organisation development and change management. His clients included ESSO (head office move to Melbourne), UNSW, ACT Government, Optus (he was a leader in the bid phase), James Hardie, AMP, Southcorp, BlueScope Steel, Telstra and Freehills as well as not-for-profits like the Salvation Army.
Ken has drawn on his rich experience and clear insights in coaching executives for the last seven years. His practical “can-do” approach supports them in their development – at work and in life. He challenges coachees to build vision, experiment with their awareness and behaviours, learn new skills and to address organisational barriers.
Assignments have included coaching teams to execute strategy; developing internal CEO aspirants; functional specialists transitioning to general management; developing lawyers to become more commercial; building an effective working relationship between a CEO and the board.
Ken is a family man who swims, golfs, plays tennis and loves music and drama.
