Walking in Two Worlds

We have two ‘Walking in Two Worlds’ programs. One is for executives seeking to enhance their capacity to lead in complex and ambiguous environments. The other is for Aborigines working in organisations.

In the executive program you spend a week living in an aboriginal community 80km south-west of Alice Springs, a community of peoples with philosophies and values very different to yours.

For over 200 years aboriginal and non-aboriginal societies have struggled to live alongside each other. Far too often those responsible for finding solutions for a successful co-existence have relied on simple solutions, based on narrow perspectives, that have failed to address the complexity of the underlying issues. Ntwerle is a community whose future is particularly unclear. Your task is to leave with a deeper understanding of this community and its issues than when you arrived.

You will leave Ntwerle equipped with tools to help you approach complex problems with a systemic approach, based on systems-thinking principles and techniques. You will also take away with you a much greater understanding of your own country.

The program for Aborigines is similar but the focus is on sharing experiences of ‘Walking in Two Worlds’.
