Experience

After working in the education sector in Canada, Susan joined the corporate world upon migrating to Australia, where she worked in sales, marketing and training. Her capacity to connect individuals and teams with their full potential led to an invitation to join Deloitte Touché Tomatsu in Brisbane as a Director, where she became the HR and Change Manager for Growth Solutions. In 2001 Susan joined McKinsey & Co working in Mindset Transformation and Leadership Development.

In corporate multicultural settings, Susan has worked independently and through interpreters in corporate Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand and South Africa, in the manufacturing, banking and mining sectors, in coaching and facilitation roles. Within Australia she has worked with the Indigenous Land Corporation (ILC) and the Brisbane Indigenous Media Association (BIMA).

As a ‘Coach of Coaches’ Susan is a senior facilitator for Coach School WA, which delivers an 18-day Coaching Diploma. Typical coaching assignments include developing leadership skills, building a specific culture within an organisation, increasing personal sales performance, introducing performance measurement tools, capability development and succession planning, resolving conflict, personal career planning, value clarification and managing teams.

She is able to engage people, encouraging them to excel in uncertain and challenging environments. Her coaching style is one of partnership — she has been described as practical, insightful, appropriately challenging and compassionately confronting. She is willing to ask provocative questions of her clients to bring out key issues. She then supports her clients as she helps them design practical action plans to address the issues; offering tools, support and encouragement, and assisting them to unleash their potential..
