Experience

Kay worked for 10 years in the role of manager, organisational development in the higher education sector. In this role she provided advice to all levels of leadership on organisational strategy, organisational learning, cultural development, and organisational change. During this time she became increasingly involved in mentoring and coaching to augment and follow up on leadership development programs. In 2010 she published the results of a research project on leadership excellence with a colleague from Monash University.

Over the last 20 years Kay has provided advice, mentoring and coaching to business leaders in a range of organisations from SMEs to large corporations, on how to effectively lead and manage by understanding how to motivate people through their values. She is often complimented for her insightful appraisal of situations and events, and people regularly seek her counsel regarding people management, strategic planning, and career development.

In 2003 Kay took on the role of President of the NSW Branch of the Association for Tertiary Education Management when it was in a precarious financial situation. Over four years under her leadership the branch became highly profitable through a revitalised program of events and services.

From 2006 Kay served a four-year term as a non-executive board member on a university council and has studied for her masters in organisational development and strategic human resource management.

In her spare time, Kay is an avid reader, enjoys learning new technologies and has a regular yoga practice.
