Experience
Ilona began her career as a lifestyle counsellor for a major health insurance company, providing counselling, health assessments, and workshops on work/lifestyle issues. She took this experience into the Commonwealth public sector in the early 1990s as a member of the Work Environment Unit, providing staff counselling services and contributing to looking after the health and well being of staff. Her astute analytical and interpersonal skills led her to expand her repertoire to coaching.
Ilona decided to venture out on her own in 1997. She has since worked with a diverse mix of organisations, broadening her experience and knowledge. She has enjoyed working on a range of projects including coaching/supporting directors to normalise and unravel complexities during times of change. She is also a skilled group coach, with experience of integrating remote teams to build on existing strengths and to work more collaboratively, to be more empowered, and to become more resilient.
Her success as a coach lies in the blend of her skills, experience and training as a psychologist and executive coach. She applies evidencebased techniques to her specialty areas, including leadership, emotional intelligence, stress management, communication, and career/future planning. Her relaxed yet challenging style has enabled her to connect with and work effectively at middle management, senior and executive levels across a range of industries.
To be at her best, Ilona ensures she takes time out for the gym, dancing, music, travel, swimming, getting out into nature (scuba diving, bushwalking, camping), wining and dining with family and friends and at times, being still.
