Experience

Doug is a business psychologist and executive coach specialising in the assessment and development of executive capability within top 100 companies both in the UK and Australia. He has more than 20 years' experience working as an applied psychologist and executive coach in both the public and private sectors. He began his career as a clinical psychologist within the NHS in England in 1991 and his first managerial role came in the form of leading a team of psychologists in Brisbane in 1994. He continued to both manage a service and practice clinically until changing careers in 1999 and qualifying as an organisational psychologist. He subsequently joined a top London business psychology consultancy as a senior consultant and began helping to assess, select and coach some of the top executives within FTSE 100 companies. He has since developed long term relationships with several key corporate clients and founded his own business psychology consultancy in 2004. In 2005 he joined Melbourne Business School in a part-time capacity as an associate program director and executive coach.

Doug has taken a leadership role in the development of the coaching industry. He has presented at international conferences and published in leading journals on the importance of effective evaluation and assessing ROI in coaching engagements. He is a past participant on the Australian Psychological Society’s strategic leaders program and a current member of the Standards Australia Committee for the guideline for Coaching in Organisations.

He lives in Brisbane with a young family of eager mentees and can frequently be found experiencing life as a coachee on the local tennis court.
